A company-imposed line item often described as helping recover costs associated with regulatory compliance. The name can sound governmental even when the company sets the charge.
Is it usually required?
Do not assume a charge is a government tax merely because it uses the word regulatory. Ask who sets the amount and whether it is remitted to a government agency.
